The festival will be held May 9-10, 1998 -Mothers' Day Weekend-from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall, Cedar & Bonita.
Many wonderful artists have been scheduled.
Saturday: Modern Hicks, Berzerkeley Players, Clarence Van Hook, Sea Chanties with Hank Cramer, Shay Black and Ricky Rackin, Dennis Campagna, Alan Smithline, Pete Kessler & Gail Fratar, Susie & Eric Thompson, Faith Petric, Sons of San Quentin (Chuck Wheeler, Don Burnham, Art Peterson, Ed Sherry), Marc Silber, Stories with Ed Silberman, Dewey Wayne Dempsey and Redmond O'Colonies, Gospel Messengers, Steve Seskin, VerentenO (Russian Song Weavers), Utah Phillips, Alice Stuart and Prune Rooney;
Sunday: Lapu Lapu, Sarita Ayala & Las Flamenquitas, Lisa MacKinney, Dewey Wayne Dempsey, Kelzkids!, Betsy Rose, Muskrats, Adina Sara & Michael Rosloff, Caren Armstrong, Older Than Dirt, Avalanche Choir, Connie Doolan & Michael Statler, Westerlys, Kate Brubeck, the Black Brothers, Rick Dougherty, Ken Okulolo and the Nigerian Brothers and Atlantic Shore.
Saturday: Bluegrass jam, oldtime jam, political song swap, blues guitar round robin, storytelling circle led by Ed Silberman, Dennis Campagna and Dewey Wayne Dempsey (bring a story to share); and an Irish session led by Shay Black.
Sunday: vocal workshop with Rick Dougherty and Connie Doolan and joke swap. Mothers' Day Events include performances by children (ages 4-18) on the main stage from 11:00-12:30, a set of songs about mothers by Ingrid Noyes and others (call her to participate), an outdoor kids concert coordinated by our own Laurie Vela, a gathering of the Children's Music Network and a workshop on the subject of parental stress. T.V. Siporin will present his 90s folk operetta entitled "The Marx Brothers go to the O.K. Murder Media Circus" with music by Mark Levy on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
Bring your unwanted folk music tapes and CDs and participate in the used tape and CD swap! There will be an outdoor barbeque catered by Arnett Catering. Please carpool. All events are free (except food).
