Campouts: July 4 and Labor Day

We are going to the Boulder Creek Scout Reservation for the 4th of July and the Labor Day campouts. Details will follow in future issues of the folknik.

Lifeguards are needed at both camps. If any members have an up-to-date Red Cross Lifesaving certificate and are willing to work a shift as lifeguard for a duty, please contact SFFMC c/o FaithPet@aol.com or (415) 661-2217 ASAP and bring the certificate to camp.


Memorial Day Campout at Bort Meadows May 26-29

We return to Bort Meadows in Anthony Chabot Regional Park, Oakland.

The facilities here are basic-portable toilets, water faucets, no showers, a few picnic tables. We will have the usual concerts, jams, and campfire sings. For the campfires, please bring wood; none is provided.

Calif. Folk Heritage Weekend

For the past seven years, the California Folk Heritage Weekend has taken place at the Nichelini Winery, usually on the first weekend in May. At press time, no information was available on this year's event. For information, contact Dick Holdstock (530) 756-8331, e-mail dholdstock@aol.com


Berkeley Folk Festival Postponed

The Berkeley Free Folk Festival has been postponed until fall, probably November, and will be organized by and held at Ashkenaz. No further details are available at present. Watch the folknik.


April Fold-in and Folk Sing

The folknik fold-in will be on Sunday, April 30 at noon at the home of Kathryn LaMar, 21295 Birch Street, Hayward, (510) 733-0425. As usual, the more, the merrier-to help with the folknik, to enjoy a late lunch afterwards, and to make music. Bring potluck food and instruments.
