The 12th Annual Western Workers Labor Heritage Festival honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is January 16, 17 and 18 at 1511 Rollins Road, Burlingame. This is a weekend of inspiration, solidarity and workers' culture.
Friday evening features arts exchange and social plus a special discussion "The History of People's Songs" with Pete Seeger and Utah Phillips. Saturday workshops include song writing, visual arts, films and songs and poetry swaps.
Saturday night performers at a concert at 8:00 p.m. at the Capuchino High School Auditorium, 1501 Magnolia Ave., San Bruno are Pete Seeger, Utah Phillips, Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir, Jimmy Collier and Curtis Wright. Tickets for the Saturday night concert are $15 general, $10 seniors, $5 students.
Sunday morning Pete Seeger leads a workshop on group singing. At 1:30 p.m. a concert in the Machinists' Hall, 1511 Rollins Rd., Burlingame is a tribute to Dr. King and is open to the public. Admission is free. Performers are Karega Hart, The Irrationals, Jimmy Collier and Curtis Wright.
